Welded wire mesh has long been used to reinforce slab-on-ground concrete, bridge decks and thin-walled precast applications for temperature and shrinkage crack control. Although mesh provides adequate performance, it adds many downsides. The mesh takes time to transport, install and correctly chair.

Adfil®Strux Macro Fibers improve impact resistance, durability and long-term crack control properties of concrete by equally distributing structural fibers throughout the entire concrete matrix.

Adfil®Strux eliminate the risk of corrosion, as well as the risk or job site obstruction inherent with the use of welded wire or mild steel reinforcement. Adfil®Strux reduces construction time and labor costs by replacing welded wire mesh (WWM).  Adfil®Strux can be used to replace non-structural steel for slab on ground, precast elements, elevated decks and tunnel liners.

Adfil®Strux 9040

Adfil®Strux 9040 is a high performing synthetic macro tape fibre reinforcement that is added to ready mixed and precast concrete at the batching stage. Adfil®Strux 9040 macro fibres are specifically engineered to provide post-crack control performance. Adfil®Strux 9040 macro fibres are 40mm in length with an aspect ratio of 90 and can replace steel mesh reinforcement, steel fibres and light rebar reinforcement. The macro fibres add impact and fatigue resistance to concrete and improve residual strength and durability.
